Great Britain’s Personality of the Year Awards Gal
a Dinner\, returning to Drapers’ Hall\, one of Lon
don’s most distinguished and historic venues.

our the individuals and organisations who\, over t
he past 25 years\, have made a lasting impact on t
he relationship between our two countries. Since i
ts inception\, the event has brought together lead
ers from business\, government\, diplomacy\, cultu
re and academia to recognise achievements that dri
ve collaboration\, innovation and sustainable grow
th.

ny in 2005\, coordinating institutional relations
and following the regulatory environments in the r
egion\, particularly European Union’s. As part of
his functions through these two decades\, João coo

o Horizonte (Minas Gerais)\, Ana Sanches is an eco
nomist with nearly 30 years of experience in finan
ce\, auditing\, strategic planning\, and new busin
ess development. The executive joined Anglo Americ
an in 2012\, during the deployment of the company’
s iron ore business in Brazil\, the Minas-Rio Syst
em. In December 2023\, she became president of Ang
lo American in Brazil and has also been chairwoman
of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Mining
Institute (Ibram) since February 2024 – both posi

which is designed to incentivise change and help
repair our planet over the next ten years. David b

ve to the subject of sustainability worldwide. Bra
zil has much to celebrate in this regard – not lea
st through its Ecological Transformation Plan\, a
strategy to align climate objectives with social a
nd economic development\, aiming to support the co
untry’s transition toward a low-carbon economy. Wh
ilst there is still much to do\, progress is impre
ssive: 92% of Brazil’s electricity generation come
s from renewable sources\, against a global averag
e of 27%\, and biofuels account for 21% of transpo
rtation fuels\, whilst the global average is 4%.

ities of the required transition that lies ahead f
