Brazil and the Global Energy Outlook

The Chamber hosted a panel discussion focusing on the ever changing landscape of the global energy markets.  The discussion was followed by an opportunity to network with other friends and members of the chamber over drinks.

Panelists:

Dr Slawomir Raszewski is a London-based academic, author of research publications in the fields of oil and gas, energy policy and resource governance, a frequent speaker at international conferences and events, and an energy and security commentator including for BBC. His academic research interests lie at the intersection between International Political Economy and Security. Slawomir has undertaken energy research and scholarly activities internationally including in Alaska, Australia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey. His advisory and consulting experience includes energy policy, risk, and regulation. Slawomir holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Leeds and his working languages include English, Polish, Russian and Turkish. @RashevS

 

 

Lavinia Hollanda, CFA, is Head of Research at FGV Energia, the center for energy studies at FGV, which focus on Energy Policy. Since joining FGV Energia, she has written and coordinated several publications in the energy sector, and participated in numerous panels and seminars related to energy or economics. Her main areas of interest include energy policy and planning, regulation and competition, distributed energy resources, energy and oil and gas auctions, and design of markets.  

Before moving into academia, she worked in the private sector for 10 years, mainly in the financial market, where she was an equity analyst in the electricity and oil and gas sectors at the investment bank Credit Suisse/Garantia. More recently, she has worked on applied research projects in the oil and gas, electricity and transport sectors, for Petrobras, Abradee (the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distribution Companies) and the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Lavinia is a member of the External Review Committee at Shell plc since October 2015, where she contributes with her expertise in the Brazilian energy sector.

Lavinia has a doctorate in economics from the Postgraduate School of Economics at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (EPGE/FGV) in Rio de Janeiro. She also holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Campinas, São Paulo State, and a master’s degree in economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
