The Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and King's Brazil Institute would like to invite members of the Chamber and KCL to attend a talk by the former British Ambassador to Brazil, Alex Ellis.

Alex Ellis is currently the Director General at the Department for Exiting the European Union. He was the British Ambassador to Brazil from July 2013 to January 2017 and did a short course at the King's Brazil Institute before taking up his post.
Alex Ellis was Director for Strategy at the Foreign Office from January 2011 to April 2013. Previously he had spent time mainly in:
In between, he headed the EU and economic issues team in the British Embassy in Madrid and the Foreign Office’s team for the negotiations for the 2004 EU enlargement and EU/Turkey relations. He started his Foreign Office career as part of the team supporting the transition to multi-party democracy in South Africa, following the release of Nelson Mandela.
