Breakfast Briefing with Alex Altman of Blick Rothenberg
The UK is one of the most attractive places to do business – not only within the UK but also to run an international business. When a business goes global from the UK, it has to consider a number of tax implications when providing goods and services cross-border. These include European VAT and duty considerations, corporate tax and employment tax issues.
Alex is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He earned a Business Bachelor’s degree at the Berlin School of Economics and Law in Germany and also participated in a Tax Law Master’s programme at the Queen Mary School of Law, University of London.
Alex advises US and European based clients setting up businesses in the UK and specialises in international corporate and indirect tax matters (VAT/Sales Taxes). He speaks regularly at tax conferences and also writes tax related articles, for example for the EC Tax Journal.
Before Alex joined Blick Rothenberg, he gained multinational professional experience working for accounting practices in Berlin (Germany) and New York (United States). He also worked as the Head of Tax Services at the German-British Chamber of Commerce in London.
In his spare time Alex enjoys playing the piano, skiing and the occasional round of golf. He is an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter and he regularly attends home games.
