The Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain hosted a webinar titled “Trade Policy in Times of Complexity and the Expansion of Mercosur’s Network of Agreements,” featuring Tatiana Lacerda Prazeres, Foreign Trade Secretary at Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, and moderated by the Chair of the Chamber, Vera Innes.
The discussion addressed the evolving global trade environment, highlighting Brazil’s resilience in the context of rising protectionism and the strategic expansion of Mercosur’s network of trade agreements. Particular emphasis was placed on the EU–Mercosur agreement and its potential to strengthen trade flows, investment, and international cooperation.
The session also explored opportunities to further enhance Brazil–United Kingdom trade relations, with a focus on regulatory cooperation, trade facilitation, and sustainability.
The Chamber extends its sincere thanks to Tatiana Lacerda Prazeres for her participation, to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), and to all those involved in the organisation of the event, in particular Diego Bonomo of Covington & Burling LLP.
