his year’s Gala Dinner and Personality of the Year Awards, hosted by H.E. Ambassador Antonio Patriota and Brazilian Chamber Chair Vera de Moraes Dantas Innes, marked a special moment: the bicentenary of Brazil–UK diplomatic relations and the lead-up to COP30 and the EarthshotPrize in Brazil. Reflecting this milestone, the Personality of the Year Awards adopted a unique bicentenary format, recognising not individuals, but two companies at the forefront of the global energy transition: Shell and Raízen. Representing them were Cristiano Pinto da Costa, CEO of Shell Brasil, and Claudio Oliveira, Vice-President of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Raízen—both of whom shared insights into their organisations’ contributions to innovation and sustainable development
