We are delighted to announce a very special Keynote Speaker for our 25th Personality of the Year Awards Gala Dinner which will take place on June 9th: David Fein LVO.
David is Vice Chair of The Earthshot Prize, the most prestigious global environment prize in history, which was launched by Prince William in 2020. The prize is designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. As such, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to the subject of sustainability worldwide. Brazil has much to celebrate in this regard – not least through its Ecological Transformation Plan, a strategy to align climate objectives with social and economic development, aiming to support the country’s transition toward a low-carbon economy. Whilst there is still much to do, progress is impressive: 92% of Brazil’s electricity generation comes from renewable sources, against a global average of 27%, and biofuels account for 21% of transportation fuels, whilst the global average is 4%.
As we will hear, the Anglo-Brazilian relationship will make a vital contribution to progress through the complexities of the required transition that lies ahead for the country. It is a relationship that our Personality of the Year Gala Dinner has explored and celebrated over 25 years.
Amongst many high-ranking government, in-house, private practice and not-for-profit experience roles he has carried out, David served as United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut under President Obama; Associate White House Counsel under President Clinton and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. He is also a Board Trustee of The American Friends of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales.
